Project95th Anniversary of Bank BGKTypeMural, illustration, designLocationPoland
ClientBank BGKYear2019

The mural project created to celebrate BGK’s anniversary aims to provide an artistic interpretation of the idea of sustainable development – economic, social, and environmental – with references to the bank’s history and its impact on the present.
The main theme of the composition is the road, symbolizing the continuous process of growth and progress.
At its center is the radiance of the rising sun – a metaphor for the future, renewal, and continuity, visually echoing the bank’s logo.

In its iconographic layer, the mural includes references to:
– the reform of Władysław Grabski and the origins of BGK,
– industrialization and urban and infrastructure investments,
– motifs inspired by the works of Zofia Stryjeńska and Jan Szczepkowski, artists who collaborated with the bank in the 1930s.

The composition combines drawing and collage, incorporating original archival scans, including Rudolf Świerczyński’s architectural elevation drawing of the bank and Zofia Stryjeńska’s banknote designs created for BGK.
The Art Deco aesthetic serves as a key inspiration – characterized by bold geometric divisions, industrial and maritime motifs, and contrasting color combinations.

The project emphasizes the role of development in everyday life, merging elements of the past with a vision of a modern, responsible future.
